As a Small Business Owner, are you “hard-core about succeeding right out of the gate” ?

Anyone entering into the world of entrepreneurism must have what it takes to succeed; otherwise, all will be just an exercise in futility. It is imperative that a small business owner or a newbie entrepreneur comes in with a mindset, will, and determination to succeed. Jay Abraham puts it well:
Understand that you need to sell you and your ideas in order to advance your career, gain more respect, and increase your success, influence and income.
A classic example of Nouveau Riche (French for "new rich") Entrepreneur

He was a college drop-out who started a small business that revolutionized our way of doing business. In 1991, at the age of 35, he was listed among the Nouveau Riche masters of the world, along with Queen Elizabeth of England, King Fahd Bin Abdul-Aiz Al Saud of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Reichmann real estate magnates of Canada, among others. He was neither king nor selling real estate properties. He was simply offering an intangible product, sets of codes that ushered the era of personal computing, and the rest is history, some still in the making.Bill Gates,As a Small Business Owner, are you “hard-core about succeeding right out of the gate” ?

William Gates III, or commonly known as Bill Gates, founded the world’s largest software company –Microsoft. Today, more than two thirds of the world’s produced pc's still run on an imprint he created –the Windows OS (Operating System). In my mind, this self-made billionaire or Nouveau Riche is the epitome of real business success. He literally created wealth out of nothing. Hear him out and take heed:
From the very beginning –and much to our surprise –Microsoft was pretty successful. In large part, that was because we lived and breathed software, stopping only to eat and catch a few hours of sleep here and there. We were totally hard-core about succeeding right out of the gate.”

Everyone wants to succeed right out of the gate, but some are better prepared to do so than others.

Some people have to learn as they go.

In my recent thoughts of becoming an entrepreneur, I only imagine success right out of the gate. Unfortunately, in my entrepreneurship class that I am currently enrolled in, that seems to be an unlikely outcome for most.

It's a hard thing to do, and I think most people, deep down, expect to succeed rght away. The challenge comes in sticking with something until you've worked hard enough to finally realize your dreams of success.

@ Linda

So true.

Preparation is only one thing, many does not have the 'endurance' for a long haul. Business success is never easy.

@ beau71

Not everyone is cut for entrepreneurial life. I think, it takes more than technical (education) skills to succeed. Determination, good planning, good market sensing (I would recommend Linda's blog for Strategic Market Segmentation for excellent resources on the subject), and excellent small business management are just some of the necessary elements for entrepreneurial success.

@ erica

It's never easy as others would think. And you're right. As I have said you need to be there for the long haul.

Than you all for your insights!

namaste!
