Is it Cost-effective for a Small Business to Outsource its IT?

Cost effective outsourcing of information technology
Information Technology (IT) and business are becoming inextricably interwoven. I don't think anybody can talk meaningfully about one without the talking about the other. ~Bill Gates
Indeed!

IT or Information Technology is now an indispensable business tool. The business, however the size, that has the right information at the right time always gets ahead of its competition. However, I must admit (again) that it is expensive for a small business to establish and manage its own IT department, were much of our needed information resource are kept safe, managed, and updated. In an eCommerce era, IT structure has even become necessary and critical to business success.

Having said that, the other feasible option I can proffer is outsourcing your IT requirements. But is it cost effective? Would investment on a third party provider justify it? On both occasion, I’d say ‘YES’.

With an outsourced IT, you are guaranteed of professional or expert service; IT management that is at par with your competitors, no additional cost on full-time personnel, no need for an in-house IT department, and most of all less worries on your part. With a competent IT consultant or agency, like New York IT Consulting, you get comprehensive IT outsourcing solutions which will immediately broaden your IT capabilities and give you the power and flexibility to handle any aspect of your technology needs: Network integration. Business application development. Network monitoring. IT support. Preventive care.

The best part of outsourcing your IT is not on its cost-effectiveness, but because it frees you of your valued time and resources so that you can concentrate more on analyzing information which in will help build your customers’ base and strengthen your position in your niche.

Hi cybermom ^^,

It's been a while. How's your sojourn in Manila?
Yeah, am still very busy with a lot of stuff. Projects are coming-in again, in spite of what's going on at Wall Street.

Thanks for dropping by again. (",)

I think the most difficult thing is deciding when the small business is large enough to justify its own IT department. I agree totally with your points. I'd also add that, unlike an employee, relationships with another company are contracts which can be broken much more easily by either side. Employing the wrong person can cause lasting consequences if you can't terminate their employment or if they protest your termination. Outsourcing contracts are much more clear cut.

@ mom811

Oh the award is much appreciated mom. In fact, I have already posted an entry for that on my other blog. Thank you so much! ^_^

@ Paul

I am glad you agree with me in that point.

Because some tend to shun outsourcing.

Thanks for dropping by Paul!

namaste!
